FromSoftware Working “Multiple Projects” Across “a Variety of Genres,” Says CEO

Elden Ring and its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, have been massively successful for developer FromSoftware, but what’s next? According to president and CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki, the studio has “multiple projects in the works” across “a wide variety of genres.”

While accepting the Grand Award for ShaOnline Bettingdow of the Erdtree during the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia, Miyazaki said (via GAME Watch), “We have multiple projects running, and they are in a wide variety of genres. Some of them are directed by me, while others are handled by others. I think we’ll be able to show you a new FromSoftware in a variety of ways, so …

Bartomeu confirms Koeman will be new Barcelona coach – nine months after turning them down

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed Ronald Koeman will be appointed their new head coach just nine months after he rejected the role.

Former Barca defender Koeman arrived in the city on Monday to sign a contract as successor to Quique Setien, who was sacked after the 8-2 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

Koeman, who has been in charge of the Netherlands since 2018, was part of the hugely successful side under Johan Cruyff that came to be known as the Dream Team , scoring the winner against Sampdoria as Barca became champions of Europe for the first time in 1992.

Bartomeu hopes the 57-year-old can restore some lustre to a Barca dressing room reeling from a sorry end to a disappointing season.

These days, everything comes out in …

Rangers boss Philippe Clement would play Dundee clash ‘on Mars’ for three points

Philippe Clement insists Rangers are prepared to play their twice-postponed game against Dundee behind closed doors – and even on Mars – after a proposal to fulfil the fixture on Thursday was rejected.

The Govan club accused Dundee of “negligence and unprofessionalism” after their cinch Premiership match at Dens Park was called off again on Wednesday night.

The game has been rescheduled for next Wednesday night after referee Don Robertson deemed the waterlogged pitch unplayable following a second inspection of the day at 3.30pm.

Rangers has written to the SPFL outlining its position following today’s further postponement of the Dundee Scottish Premiership fixture.

Pochettino to Man Utd? They should go for him now, says Mark Hughes

Manchester United should move to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager immediately rather than wait until the end of the season if he is their first choice, according to former Old Trafford hero Mark Hughes.

United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday in the wake of a humiliating 4-1 defeat to promoted Watford a day earlier, but the writing was already on the wall.

After an inconsistent start to the 2021-22 campaign, the beginning of the end for Solskjaer was arguably the 5-0 home loss to Liverpool on October 24.

That thrashing by Jurgen Klopp s side set several unwanted records, including United s largest margin of defeat against their fierce rivals at home and the first time the Red Devils had trailed by four goals at half-time in the Premier League…

Bruno Alves talks up Sporting move

Fenerbahce defender Bruno Alves is interested in joining Sporting Lisbon in the upcoming transfer window, according to his agent.

The Turkish giants reportedly plan to offload the 33-year-old at the earliest opportunity and it would appear as though the experienced centre-back hopes to return to Portugal.

His father and agent Washington Alves has suggested that a loan move to Sporting Lisbon may be on the cards in January.

“Loan deal can be a hypothesis. (Outright) transfer is definitely very difficult due to financial issues,” Alves told Milliyet.

“Sporting are a big club. Big players have got to play for big teams.”

Bruno Alves began his career at Varzim, but was snatched by FC Porto before he could make his first senior appearance for …

Liverpool without Jones for Norwich opener as Henderson and Thiago declared ready

Curtis Jones has been ruled out of Liverpool s opening Premier League game of the season at Norwich City through concussion.

The 20-year-old has featured in three of Liverpool s four pre-season friendlies and was pushing for inclusion for Saturday s trip to Carrow Road.

However, Jones was replaced during the first half of Monday s 3-1 win over Osasuna following a collision and will not be available this weekend as per concussion protocols.

He had a slight concussion so we just have to follow the protocol, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp told the club s official website.

He is fine, he feels fine again, but that’s the protocol. He is available for training from Sunday on I think.

Liverpool will also be without influential left-back Andy Robertson …

Rooney wants greedy Rashford, has high hopes for Martial

Wayne Rooney has told former Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford to be more selfish and feels Anthony Martial could be one of the best players in the Premier League.

Rooney ended a 13-year association with United before the start of this season, departing as the club s record goalscorer for a return to boyhood club Everton.

The ability and potential of Martial and Rashford, 22 and 20 respectively, was part of the reason for Rooney seeking a fresh start for the final chapter of his career as his first-team opportunities dwindled.

The former England captain believes United s future is in good hands but encouraged Rashford, who has been used predominantly as a wide attacker by Jose Mourinho despite making his first-team breakthrough as a striker, to leave th…

Matthaus wants Lahm as Bayern sporting director

Former Bayern Munich star Lothar Matthaus feels Philipp Lahm would be the perfect candidate for the position of sporting director at the Bundesliga champions at the end of his playing career.

The 32-year-old has stated on more than one occasion that he aims to retire when his current contract expires in 2018 and Matthaus believes he is the ideal long-term replacement for Matthias Sammer.

The latter served as sporting director at Bayern between 2012 and 2016, stepping down this summer due to health reasons.

Lahm has to remain at Bayern after his playing days, Matthaus wrote in his weekly column for Sport Bild.

He can be the link between the team, the board of directors and the club when he hangs up his boots. I think he would be better suited for this j…

Vogts plays down Poland link

Azerbaijan boss Berti Vogts has moved to deny rumours he has been approached to take over Poland.

Polish Football Association (PZPN) president Grzegorz Lato had implied they would be assessing the 65-year-old as a potential replacement for Franciszek Smuda, who left his post after his side s Euro 2012 group stage exit.

On June 27 the board of directors will meet, and we will discuss both candidates, Lato told Polish radio station RMF FC.

Then we will see which direction we are going whether it will be a Polish coach or a foreign one.

However, Vogts has now reacted with surprise to Lato s assertions, claiming he had no idea about the PZPN s interest in his services.

I am very surprised at these reports, the German told Sport-Informations-Diens…

Havertz, Haaland and how much added time? 5 things we learned from Wembley

Arsenal lifted the first silverware of the new season after beating treble winners Manchester City on penalties to take home the Community Shield.

Leandro Trossard’s deflected strike deep into stoppage time earned a 1-1 draw after Cole Palmer had put City in front.

Here, the PA news agency looks at what we learned from the Wembley clash on the eve of the new campaign.

The winner doesn’t take it all

While Arsenal will no doubt celebrate their success, the last three Community Shield winners have gone on to end the subsequent season empty-handed.

City have now lost this fixture for the past three years – beaten by Leicester and Liverpool before this loss to Arsenal.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men have gone on to win two Premier League titles,…
