Ruffier has Premier League option

St Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier could be set to join a Premier League club, according to his agent.

The 26-year-old France international has been heavily linked with a move away from the French club in the current transfer window, with Roma thought to be particularly keen on taking him to Serie A.

However, while the player s representative, Patrick Glanz, admits that there has been contact with Rudi Garcia s side, there has been no official offer from the Stadio Olimpico.

And he has now indicated that there is also the possibility of a switch to the Premier League.

The interest of Roma in Ruffier? I don t rule out that the Giallorossi like him. Rudi Garcia likes him but there has been no direct contact, Glanz told Tuttomercatoweb.

St Etienne would like to keep him but if they get a good offer they would let him go.

Currently there has been contact with an English club. Therefore, a future in the Premier League is a possibility.

The former Monaco man, who spent time on loan at Bayonne before moving to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in 2011, has one France cap to his name.

He started every Ligue 1 game for Christophe Galtier s side last season as they finished fifth and qualified for the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round.
