Championship roundup: Idah strike for Norwich has Farke ‘feeling good’

Adam Idah struck late as Norwich started life back in the Championship with a 1-0 win at Huddersfield. Idah scored nine minutes from time after Teemu Pukki pounced on a poor back-pass by Richard Stearman.

It meant defeat for Carlos Corberán in his first league match as Huddersfield manager, but the goal left his opposite number, Daniel Farke, “feeling good again” after last season’s gruelling run to relegation.

Euro 2012: Portugal defeat Denmark, Ronaldo rues misses

Portugal downed Denmark by a score of 3-2 at Euro 2012 on Wednesday, with Varela netting the winning-goal in the 87th minute.

The Portuguese were bossing the game to the tune of a 2-0 lead after just 36 minutes.

The scoring was opened by Real Madrid defender Pepe in the 24th minute following a corner.

The naturalized Portuguese made a run to the near post and flicked the ball past Denmark goalkeeper Stephan Andersen with a sublime header.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Helder Postiga doubled Portugal s lead in the 36th minute. The build up play from Nani was brilliant, who created enough space to fire in a low cross to the near-post, which Postiga buried in the back of the net.

However, the game changed when Nicklas Bendtner bagged hi…

China to host new-look Club World Cup in 2021

China will host a revamped Club World Cup in 2021, FIFA has announced.

The game s governing body made the announcement following a meeting in Shanghai on Thursday.

Although its prestige has often paled against other trophy targets for European sides, a redesigned Club World Cup will expand to 24 teams following the final two iterations of the existing seven-team format in Qatar in 2019 and 2020.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has strongly opposed the move, which is seen by some as an attempt to position the competition as a rival to Europe s Champions League.

Ceferin last year described FIFA as behaving strangely , but Gianni Infantino, president of the global body, pressed ahead with rolling out plans for the new-look tournament.

Finland 1-3 England: Three Lions respond to Greece setback

England put their Greece setback to one side and returned to winning ways in their Nations League campaign after easing past Finland 3-1 in Helsinki on Sunday.

Lee Carsley s men were stunned by a 2-1 defeat at home to Greece on Thursday but responded well three days later as Jack Grealish fired England into the lead in the first half.

Trent Alexander Arnold s stunning free-kick 16 minutes from time was followed up by Declan Rice s close-range effort to make sure of victory, with Arttu Hoskonen netting a late consolation for the hosts.

Angel Gomes neat flick released Grealish into the box after 18 minutes, with the Manchester City midfielder netting his fourth international goal, and second under Carsley, by sliding low into the bottom-right corner.

John Terry Shares Video of Diego Costa Fighting Chelsea Masseur in 2015 (Video)

Football is rarely short of interesting video material that gets all sorts of reaction in today s world of social media, but one would never expect to see a top-level professional player involved in a boxing match with an obviously much older club masseur.

But when it comes to Diego Costa, anything can be expected.

NFL Underdogs: Jason Logan’s Favorite Picks for Week 7

Halloween is hiding just around the corner, but Week 7 of the season looks like Christmas morning for those who love betting on NFL underdogs: Just look at all those points!

The Week 7 odds board is bursting with big spreads — +17.5, +15, and +12.5 — with the average handicap just under a touchdown. But all big spreads are big for a reason: bad teams.

And boy howdy do we have some bad ones this year.

I’ve always had trouble trusting big dogs, knowing that you were asking a terrible team to be just a little less terrible in order to cover the spread. I’d rather put my faith in a competent contender, knowing that there’s a capacity for improvement rather than just not sucking as much.

So, I dodge the big do…

Dallas Cowboys Odds, Predictions, and Betting Preview 2022: The Boys Are Back in Town

Expectations are always high in the Big D, and the Dallas Cowboys’ 2022 NFL odds reflect those aspirations, fueled by one of the softest schedules in the NFL and a feverish public betting fanbase.

Warranted or not, the Cowboys’ futures have them pegged for the playoffs as slim favorites to win the NFC East with a double-digit win total. In a twist from past seasons, if Dallas is going to live up to the hype, it won’t be because of its star-studded skill positions but rather an opportunistic stop unit headlined by a pair of the most promising young defenders in the league.

Here’s your NFL betting preview for the Dallas Cowboys.
